Reimagine Rainbow Blvd.
Reimagine Rainbow
As you have likely heard, a team of consultants have lead a committee of stakeholders and engaged members of the public in studying possible ways to improve Rainbow Boulevard from Shawnee Mission Parkway to I-35. The “Reimagine Rainbow” report is now complete and includes a set of recommendations that aim to make Rainbow safer and more accessible as well as more attractive for people using multiple modes of transportation, including walking, biking, and transit, in addition to driving.
At the July Westwood Hills City Council meeting, you will have an opportunity to hear a presentation from committee members about the Reimagine Rainbow Plan and the next steps, including seeking funding for the project. The Westwood Hills Council meeting is set for Monday, July 8, 2024, at 7 pm, at Westwood City Hall. If you are unable to make it to the July 8th meeting, Mayor Tietze and Mission Woods have graciously invited our residents to attend the Mission Woods City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 7 pm, also at Westwood City Hall, at which the Reimagine Rainbow presentation will be given.
